My New House

I know it isn't good to buy a new house on a whim...but I couldn't resist. This house just spoke to me, and before I could think about it too much...it was mine.

It a real fixer-upper, but I can see the potential. Come on in, and I'll show you around. The front door needs a fresh coat of paint.

But, I really like the front stairway.

This room with the fireplace is my favorite...warm and inviting. Probably needs a rug.

The play room.

I suppose you have figured out by now...it is a wee little house. Got it at my favorite junk store...$20.

Here's the side view.

And, lastly, the adorable windows which open. I have furniture in the attic and am looking forward to moving in!

  3. When my third son was born, I sold the doll house I had saved for my daughter...and...also...my Barbie doll heads fell off...no joke.

This house is much more compact, but still not sure what I will do with it.I have the furniture from the house I sold...hoping it will fit!

  5. Man-- compared to Barbie's Dream Home, that is a MANSION!!! Enjoy!!

BTW -- is the Hillcrest Junktique, or something like that, b/w Kavanaugh and Lee -- your favorite store? My younger daughter and her fiance found a fabulous table there a few weeks ago that they re-finished. It inspired a total makeover of their living room -- it's a "grown-up" place now!

  7. I made my daughter a dollhouse when she was little. We moved and I hated that it might not survive the move so I sold it. I too have all the furniture from it and have just been waiting for a find like yours. I keep going back and forth between making one again and hoping to find a diamond in the rough. Good luck on yours...a real jewel!
