It was definitely a global warming celebration! Everyone needed to check the calendar to make sure it was still January. Seventy degrees and sunny... wow.
I jumped on my awesome 21 speed Schwinn, scored at my neighborhood junk store, and headed down to the River Trail.

Taking some time to enjoy the beautiful view and incredible sunshine.
Riding along, I thought to myself, "This is so peaceful and happy! I think I have discovered 'my thing'.
Pandora Radio playing from my knapsack (Re-cycled vintage fabrics $20).
As I was riding merrily along, my brakes began to squeak. Note to self: On the way back to Hillcrest Cottage, drop by the local bike shop for a brake adjustment.
At the bike shop, one thing led to another...
... which ended in the bike man saying, "You haven't been riding this bike have you?"
"Well... kinda... why?"
"It is totally unsafe. The steering column is getting ready to snap in half. Do not ride this bike."
Condemned. My awesome bike was condemned.
The End.
Global Warming Celebration over.
What a bummer! Uh, he didn't just try to sell you a new bike, did he? :-P
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! I'm glad you didn't get hurt though! I'm sure someone as resourceful and creative as you will find another awesome mode of transportation in the near future!
ReplyDeletePhooey! I hate that. I hope it doesn't cost too much to fix? Looks like you had a lovely day despite the bad news about your bike.
ReplyDeleteWell, pooh. It's a good thing you listened to "self."
ReplyDeleteYou gave your awesome bike a good outing in its waning days. I guess Big Purple will see more action in days to come, for awhile at least.
Awwwww....... I know how much you loved that bike :( What a disappointment! But I'm thinking how much more of a disappointment it would have been if you had been hurt! So I'm very thankful that wasn't the case!
ReplyDeleteI want one of your knapsacks! Are they in your Etsy store or do I just say "Hey, I want one of your knapsacks!"??? :D
